Zoo Review

Today is my day to share at the Pink Paper Bakery. Well, eight years ago my husband and I took a trip to visit my mother in law in Kenya. We went on several safari's. So when this set came out I had to have it! It brings me back a little bit. I was inspired by a similar style card I saw on Pinterest.

This card is currently on it's way to my MIL, for her birthday. I know she will love it!

Materials:

  • Stamps: Zoo Review, Serene Silhouettes
  • Paper: Cajun Craze: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
    • Basic Black: 5" x 3 3/4"
    • Whisper White: 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
  • Ink: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Stazon Jet Black, Stampin' Write Black Marker
  • Tools and Accessories: 1 3/8" Circle punch, sponge

2. Sponge around the circle working outward.
3. Remove the circle and stamp your images. (Color in the giraffe, carefully)
4. For the ground, tear a piece of card stock and place it under the feet of the giraffe and sponge below and up to the tree until your desired darkness.

Snowflake Soiree Christmas Card

Today is my day to share over at the Pink Paper Bakery. I chose to make a quick, easy and beautiful Christmas Card! I used the dryer sheet technique to give it that frosty look with sparkle.

Dryer Sheet Technique: Save your old dryer sheets now!! Run the iron over them on low to
de-wrinkle. Using your paper trimmer, cut them to the desired size. Spray dryer sheet with spray adhesive, turn over and place it on your stamped image, then apply Stampin' Glitter immediately. Tap off the excess.

Materials:
  • Stamps: Snowflake Soiree (wood: 127922, clear 127925)
  • Paper: Marina Mist - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" (119682)
    • Early Espresso - 5 1/4" x 4" (119686)
    • Whisper White - 5" x 3 3/4" (100730)
  • Ink: Marina Mist (126962), Pool Party (126982), Early Espresso (126974)
  • Tools and Accessories - Used dryer sheets (5" x 3 3/4")
    • Elmers Craft Bond Spray Adhesive (local craft store)
    • Stampin' Glitter (102023)
*Tip: For lighter shades of snowflakes, try stamping off on another sheet of paper first*

Snowflake Soiree

I love to watch the snow fall....from the inside of a warm house! This is why I was so glad to see Snowflake Soiree on the carry over list. The snowflakes and greetings are so elegant looking. I only wish they would fall from the sky like that.

The layout came from the Winter Sketch Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary, one of my favorites! Today was also my day to share over at the Pink Paper Bakery.

Materials:
  • Stamps: Snowflake Soiree
  • Paper: Island Indigo - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

I decided to play along with the SUO Challenge blog. There theme is harvest time. Well, I would like to harvest a pile of leaves and jump in them!

By the Seashore

With winter right around the corner, the boys and I have been enjoying as much of the warm sun as possible. This is a completely unfair statement as I live in San Diego, but the water temp will be dropping soon enough.

I used an oldie but goody layout, crossed with inspiration from today's trip to the beach.

KEEP CALM and CARRY....GARLIC?

I know Halloween is 2 months away but I actually have an itch this year to make lots of fun hand made decorations.  This has also been a great bonding experience with my son too! He is all about making things spooky.

When it comes to making specific hand made items, I have learned you have got to make due with what you have, hence the packing tape on the back of this board to hold the ribbon on. Haha!

Now, I wish I could take full credit for this, but I got the idea from a local craft store.

Here is a glimpse of what my door will look like on Halloween Night!

A photo of the back.

  • Stamps: Gorgeous Grunge (wood - 130514, Clear - 130517), Tiny Tags (retired),

Summer Silhouettes

The Stampin' Up! theme this year is "Be the Difference." After attending convention I really got to see and hear all the wonderful things Stampin' Up! does for others. I came home and wanted to be a difference too. As a mother of 3 young boys, I don't have much time. So, I have vowed to mail out one card a week for the rest of the year. Even brightening someone's day is making a difference.

If you can't tell by now, I love to get inspiration from other blog challenges. This week I took the layout from Create with Connie and Mary and combined it with a color challenge over at Fab Friday.

Materials:

  • Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Sweet Essentials
  • Paper: Crisp Cantaloupe - 8 1/2"x 5 1/2"

Shark!!!!

My friend had a shark themed birthday party for her 5 year old son. Well, Stampin' Up! doesn't have any shark sets, so I had to improvise. I was not sure what to do with the Gorgeous Grunge set we received at Convention, but now I am so glad we got it! It made my card complete!

Crumb Cake card stock cut out with Apothecary Accents Framelits. I free handed the lines to make the shape of a surfboard.

Trim off the excess

Use the framelit to trim down the card stock on both sides in shape of a surf board.

For the Sky, 1 3/8" circle punch, use snail to hold the circle down and sponge around.
For the sun, use the paper you punch the whole with to cover the sky and sponge in the circle.

Ingredients:
  • Stamps: Designer Typeset Photopolymer, Woodgrain, Gorgeous Grunge
  • Paper: Crumb Cake - 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"
    • Whisper White - 5 1/4" x 4"
    • Marina Mist - 4" x 1 1/2" (tear)
    • Soft Sky - 4" x 1" (tear)
  • Ink: Soft Sky, So Saffron, Soft Suede, Real Red
  • Tools & Accessories: Apothecary Accents Framelits
    • 1 3/8" Circle Punch
    • Boho Blossom Punch
    • Sponge
